112 persons of the nation were given the prestigious Padma Awards and this comprises 94 Padma Shri awards, 4 Padma Vibhushan awards and 14 Padma Bhushan awards. With the event planned to be held in two phases, in the first phase 56 were given the Padma awards.
The venue of the event was the President's residence Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi and the event had the presence of President Ramnath Kovind, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu,Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Among those celebrated people who were conferred the Padma awards yesterday are Mohanlal, music director and singer Shankar Mahadevan, Harika Dronavalli ace chess champion, Table Tennis rising player Achanta Sharat Kamal, Indian Michael Jackson Prabhudeva, Drums Sivamani, Wrestler Bajrang Punia, Singer Shankar Mahadevan, Indian Kabaddi team captain Ajay Thakur and also Bangaru Adigalar and few more.
