Accordingly this is very interesting question. In my view Rahul Gandhi himself is not serious about his political career. Meanwhile it was his lucky destiny that he burned in the family of Gandhi who ruled in India for more than 60 years. For example he spent his vacation of New Year in Europe and he already knew that the elections in 5 states are very near.

Many Indian people understand that who better leader is for them. Furthermore we Indians are not like American who chooses Donald Trump as president who doesn’t have any good experience in politics. Many says the leadership of Congress need to be given to a competent person, Rahul Gandhi has been unable to establish himself as a mass leader and certainly Lacks communication skills which is very important in Indian democracy, he can win a constituency but not hearts of people to be accepted as prime minister, not at least till 2019, unless a miracle occurs.

Moreover whenever, Rahul Gandhi is cited, the first thing people do is to compare him with Rajiv Gandhi. Rahul lacks that seriousness and charisma. Hence they see him as a child of Rajiv but not Rajiv and so if Rahul Gandhi learns to better cover his weaknesses and minimizes his mistakes he can perform better. Hence winning 2019 elections is difficult for him and he will need to work very hard if he wants a respectable performance from himself which he does not seem to be doing currently.
