Kakinada sources stated that YSR Congress party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy endorsed for a law to be put in force for the execution of the election manifesto, once the political parties come to power. When speaking at a public meeting at Pithapuram, he said that the political parties should hold responsibility for the promises or schemes they plan to implement as per their election manifesto and action should be taken against them if the programs are not fulfilled.

Furthermore YS Jagan suggested that a political party should resign from power in such circumstances adding that legislation should be initiated to achieve the objective. Reportedly when calling out all the political parties for making unrealistic promises to garner votes from the public, he said that the promises are forgotten once they come to power, referring to Telugu Desam (TDP) promises in 2014 elections which are long forgotten.

Moreover recalling TDP Chief and Chief Minister N Chandrababu's promise for the Kapu community of Rs 1,000 crore per annum for their welfare, the YSRCP President said that even Rs 1,300 crore has not been released till date. Apparently he also mentioned Chandrababu's promise of loan waiver, DWCRA loans among others, none of which were fulfilled.
