YSR Congress is trying its level best to defeat Chandrababu's son, Nara Lokesh in Mangalgiri. Jagan gave a bumper offer to the people of the constituency. "Our party candidate in Mangalgiri will be given a place in my cabinet if he will win over Nara Lokesh, Jagan Mohan Reddy said.

This is the first election for Nara Lokesh in his Political Career. Telugu Desam Party did not win this seat since 1985. In 2014 elections, TDP candidate, Ganji Chiranjeevi lost to YSR Congress Candidate, Alla Rama Krishna Reddy by just 12 votes. So, Lokesh had chosen a tough seat for his Electoral Debut.
