The Polling for Andhra Pradesh Assembly and Parliament Seats of the State is officially concluded by 6 PM. All those standing in queues at polling stations by 6 PM will be allowed to Vote until they are all covered. They gave slips/tokens and the Gates were closed. Polling will continue till 9 PM in many booths.
According to the Election Commission Numbers, Andhra Pradesh has registered 74.21% Voting till 6 PM. With the people in the queues, the number may go up to 80% which is like never before in the Past, Chief Election Commissioner, Gopalakrishna Diwedi announced to the media. The Voter Turnout is already more than that of 2014 elections.
Parties are having different calculations about for whom this huge voter turnout will benefit. The Counting and the results will happen on May 23rd which is around one and half months away. Election Commission bars all Exit Polls until the last phase of General Elections is complete which is on May 19th.
