Following withdrawal of asylum status by Ecuador, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has been arrested by British police yesterday and has been removed from the embassy, which was where he was kept in asylum since 2012.
The 47 year old founder of Wikileaks was taken by cops from Metropolitan Police Service at Embassy of Ecuador and is in custody at London police station and will next be presented to West minister Magistrates Court. Assange went to embassy in London in 2012 following sexual assault allegations.
He stayed back in the embassy fearing extradition for leakage of military and diplomatic documents via Wikileaks. Ecuador President Lenin Moreno said Assange had violated the agreement reached with him and his legal counsel.
