Furthermore, he said according to media reports the Sri Lankan government named a local radical group National Thowheeth Jamath (NTJ) behind the deadly bombings in the island nation. With help from an international agency, NTJ was behind the suicide bombings that primarily targeted churches and hotels on Easter Sunday and suicide bombers photos were released by ISIS. Reports noted that a Sri Lankan state minister informed Parliament that based on "initial evidence" available with investigators the serial explosions were a retaliation for the Christchurch mosque shootings in New Zealand.

Moreover, Thirumavalavan said the Sri Lankan government had not acted swiftly even after warning issued by the Indian intelligence source regarding the bomb threat in advance. Perhaps under any circumstances, such ghastly acts cannot be justified and also said Muslims could win their rights only through democratic means and not by extremism.
