Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday hit out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the launch of his party’s manifesto for the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. Kejriwal said that this election could be a turning point for the nation.

The AAP chief said that the key promise of his party is to defeat the BJP and remove outgoing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the saffron party chief Amit Shah from power. He added that BJP is against minorities, but we are Indians first and then Hindu or Muslim. He said that the 2019 election is to save the nation and its constitution from the BJP-led NDA government.

Kejriwal also lashed out at Congress President Rahul Gandhi and blamed him for failing to forge an alliance with Aam Aadmi Party for the ongoing elections. He said that if Narendra Modi and Amit Shah return to power, then only Rahul Gandhi will be responsible for it. The AAP manifesto promises full statehood to the national capital as has been the demand by the party for a long time. Kejriwal, speaking on this, said that Delhi can only be on par with capitals of other countries when it gets statehood.
