Rajya Sabha MP and YSR Congress National General Secretary Vijayasai Reddy in a letter to the Central Election Commission (CEC) expressed apprehensions over the possibilities of Telugu Desam Party deliberately causing hindrance during the counting of votes at the designated centers. He urged the commission seeking stringent measures in handling the ruling party's interference.

The YSRCP MP sought for the Central Reserved Police Forces to be deployed at the Counting Centres and also implement Section 144 to avoid law and order issues. He also urged the Election Commission to take Criminal action in case the ruling party agents forging 17-C forms.

He also asked the EC to ensure that the Election Observers to be physically present in the respective counting halls prior to the counting else there is a chance of the ruling party agents pressurizing the Returning Officers. He also urged for Steel Barricades be put up along with the mesh near the EVMs in all the counting halls to avoid any hurdles for the counting agents.
