Vijayawada sources stated that the after effects of Cyclonic storm Fani has caused a rise in the mercury levels in the state of Andhra Pradesh with temperatures rising to over 45 degree Celsius. Meanwhile the Real Time Governance Society (RTGS) of Andhra Pradesh showed that the maximum temperature in 52 places in the state was over 45 degrees and in 127 places it was above 44 degrees.

Furthermore in Vijayawada district, it saw the highest temperature at 45.6 degree Celsius, while Polavaram in West Godavari recorded 45.5 degrees. Apparently in East Godavari, a farmer couple dies of sunstroke in Thallarevu mandal of East Godavari district on Sunday. Meanwhile the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said the unusual rise in temperature is due to Cyclone Fani which hit Odisha on Friday and it took away at the humidity in the air resulting in dry weather.



Moreover temperature in Bapatla and Kakinada shot to 42.6 degrees and 43 degrees, while in Kurnool and Tirupati witnessed a maximum temperature of 42.5 degrees and 43.6 degrees. Apparently the IMD has warned that the severe heat wave will continue in the state of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh till May 7.
