B.Prasad Rao, the 1979 batch IPS officer is likely to become the next DGP of Andhra Pradesh replacing the controversial V Dinesh Reddy.
Prasad Rao , a doctorate in Physics and currently heading the ACB had called on Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy at Secretariat yesterday. But the media scared of vindcitive attitude of DGP Dinesh Reddy did not float the Prasad Rao name yesterday and kept it under wraps .
CMO said the senior IPS officer had brief meeting with CM and a final announcement would be made today or tomorrow. Meanwhile Dinesh Reddy who was in Delhi as per summons of the CBI was examined by CBI officials in the disproportionate assets case under probe as per supreme court directions . However Dinesh Reddy has denied that he had visited Delhi and that he was examined by the CBI seluths.
The CMO sources said another senior IPS officer Aruna Bahuguna was also in the race for DGP post .She e is presently Chief of the CRPF at Delhi.
