New delhi sources stated that Prime Minister Narendra modi has targeted West Bengal CM mamata banerjee for being ignorant over Cyclone Fani that had also hit the Bengal state. modi was addressing an election rally in Bengal, said he tried to contact the Bengal CM twice, but she didn't respond.
Furthermore calling mamata banerjee as 'Speed-breaker Didi' modi said, "She tried doing politics on cyclone Fani. She tried to talk to Mamata Didi before the cyclone hit, but she refused to talk to me and this shows how arrogant she is." Adding, "She waited her to call me back but she did not. Still he tried to contact Mamata Didi and was worried about people of Bengal."
Meanwhile PM modi claimed so, a section of media reported that Mamata Banerjee was unhappy that modi reached Odisha CM naveen Patniak but made no attempts to call the West Bengal CM. Moreover modi also hailed Odisha CM for taking timely measures to escape the menace of Fani and announced Rs 1000 crore as initial assistance. Apparently then modi spoke to West Bengal governor Keshari Nath Tripathi asking him for a report on the damage being done by Cyclone Fani in Bengal but the officials replied that she was busy with election campaign.
