Chennai sources stated that the exit polls have predicted a clear majority for the ruling National Democratic Alliance but its ally in Tamilnadu is not impressed. Meanwhile Tamilnadu’s chief minister E Palaniswami has called the exit polls “a lie.” Furthermore the exit polls have suggested that the All india Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) would get close to 10-12 seats in the 38 constituencies of the state. Meanwhile the Congress-Dravida Mukta Kazhagam (DMK) coalition is expected to get close to 25-28 seats.

Reportedly the AIADMK is running a minority government in the state and hence it needs four more assembly seats to secure the majority. Whereas, the DMK needs 21 more seats to form the government. Furthermore the state also voted for 22 assembly constituencies which had by-poll. Apparently if the exit polls hold true, then the AIADMK may lose out on the state as the results may repeat for the state as well.

Moreover TTV Dhinakaran yesterday said, "After making media carry favorable report about them before polls, they've unleashed their next bundle of lies in the name of exit polls. This is to play games during counting after demotivating us. We have to be vigilant during counting."
