Is the CM Kiran Kumar Reddy very weak on statistics of Irrigation works? The state irrigation minister P Suderdhan Reddy says that CM is wrong to predict a ‘water battle’ in the event of bifurcation of state into Telangana and Seemandhra. .Minister said that Krishna basin has 811 TMC and Godavari basin has 1486 TMC allocation whish has been divided into all three regions as per water flow and reservoir and utilization.
Asked whether CM was correct in his assessment, the minister said ‘As Irrigation minister I say that there will be no water battle if Telangana is formed. CM is to wrong to make such an assessment and I don’t know what basis he said so?’ Sudhershan Reddy says that whatever be the assessment of CM Kiran Kumar Reddy , the state has devised systems and mechanisms for water distribution and utilization .’In fact AP has built more infrastructure for utilization of water being wasted into sea .
The minister said abut 2500 TMC of Godavari water and 300 TMC of Krishna water was going waste to sea and YSR government launched Jalayagnam to utilize the surplus and flood water .However the minister said only two of the 14 projects in Telangana were complete and 10 of the 45 projects in Seemandra were complete .Telangana projects delayed due to lift engineering and power shortage while in Seemandhra projects flowing on gravity has been completed before eschedule. He also confided that many of Rayalaseea and Coastal andhra projects did not have water allocations and were just based on surplus water.
