Cases are being registered on the family members of former Speaker, Kodela Siva prasad Rao for alleged 'K Tax' i.e., Kodela Tax - Extortion of money during the TDP Government Tenure. An extortion case was registered against Kodela Siva son K Siva Ram at Narasaraopet rural police station in Guntur district on Friday.
A builder alleged that he was asked to pay Rs 17 lakh to Siva Ram in return to get permission for constructing apartments at Ravipadu in Narasaraopet Mandal. The Builder paid Rs 14 lakh but was constantly harassed by Kodela's men to pay remaining Rs 3 lakh. Another case was registered on Kodela's daughter, Vijaya Lakshmi.
A woman complained that Vijaya lakshmi has demanded 20 Lakhs for two acres of land she brought in 2002. She paid 15 Lakhs in installments fearing Kodela but is being harassed for the remaining Five Lakhs. Kodela lost in the recent elections and with government change, the tormented people are garnering the courage to file the cases.
