The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had registered cases of disproportionate assets after searches on properties of Central GST Anti-Evasion Wing's Superintendent Bollineni Srinivasa Gandhi in hyderabad and Vijayawada. CBI has unearthed disproportionate assets worth Rs 3.75 crore.

Interestingly, Gandhi had earlier served as Assistant Director in the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and handled several high profile cases including that of YS jagan Mohan Reddy's disproportionate assets case. jagan, in February 2018, had complained against Gandhi to Prime Minister Narendra modi that he was vindictive.

He had also charged that Gandhi and his superior officer were acting at the behest of the then TDP Government. He said Gandhi had performed a series of attachments of his companies and some of them were repetitive. Later, Gandhi was shunted out to the GST department and posted in the Anti-Evasion wing at GST commissioner's office in hyderabad.
