Sources from Patna stated that it is clear that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) comprising BJP, JD-U and LJP, will fight the Bihar assembly elections likely to be scheduled towards the end of 2020 united and the one question which is doing the rounds in political circles is whether nitish kumar would give way to another leader the next time around. Furthermore this is the million dollar question, so to say, doing the rounds.

Reportedly there are those in his party who feel that his governance has been far from satisfactory. Apparently analysts say that Nitish may seek to opt out of the race of chief ministership and present a new face and Nitish may wish to propose the name of a candidate which is acceptable to all. Moreover, Nitish's son, it is said, has no interest in politics. Perhaps this brings us back to the central question, who will replace him? Presently speculation is rife that nitish kumar may name ace political strategist Prashant Kishore.

Moreover kishore as his successor and if that indeed comes true, it would be a master stroke because who can craft a win better than Prashant Kishor? Moreover, PK is a figure untouched by controversy of any kind and his elevation as Vice-president in the party did not ruffle any feathers and it would come as no surprise if he were to emerge as the consensus candidate, should Nitish decide to give way to a fresh face.
