OMG: In democratic India as many as 1,813 children below the age of six are inmates of prisons across the country for no crime of theirs. Their only crime is that they were born to mothers who were either have been convicted for a crime or are under trials accused in some cases for years together. The jails are homes to these children as the law provided mothers to keep their infant children in the jail. However, after six years the child is sent to a juvenile home or orphanage where he either grows into a criminal or male prostitute. According to National Crime Records Bureau there were 1590 women prisoners along with 1813 children below six years in jail across country.
