At first-of-its-kind diplomatic outreach program in partnership with the Ministry of the External Affairs, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, YS jagan Mohan Reddy made an honest pitch, addressing concerns and pointing out strengths, to representatives from 35 countries who have attended the event which is happening in Vijayawada.
"We are a poor state, we do not have metros like hyderabad, Bengaluru or Chennai, but we offer you a stable government that is corruption-free and has transparent governance," the Chief Minister said. We have good relations with the neighboring state and the Central Government will support us completely, jagan added.
Further, Not shying away from addressing what he himself called "revolutionary but controversial decisions", jagan explained why he needed to renegotiate energy tariff in PPAs and pass a law to reserve 75 percent jobs for locals. The Chief Minister said they were in fact pro-industry steps. jagan showcased the lengthy coast-line, enormous national resources, and abundant skilled workers as the Unique Selling Point of the State. Those who attended the program says that the attendees are very much impressed with the honest talk of the Young Chief Minister.
