The Group of Ministers appointed by the Central government to look into the bifurcation of AP has given its first concrete report in terms of education for the newly proposed residuary state of Andhra Pradesh (read Seemandhra). Facing criticism that the entire educational hubs are based in Hyderabad, the GoM has reportedly recommended that a sum of Rs. 7000 crores be allocated for setting up new educational institutes such as IIT and IIM in Seemandhra. This is being sense as a first step towards providing concrete assurances for the people of Seemandhra that in case bifurcation is inevitable what will be the assurances for them and what is that they will get eventually leaving Hyderabad.
