YS jagan Mohan Reddy Government has started showing its mark in eradicating Corruption and Saving Public Money. Despite resistance from all quarters, jagan went forward with Polavaram Reverse Tendering and that is yielding results now. After saving around 58 Crore of Public Money in the Canals works, the Dam and Hydel Project work resulted in bigger savings.


Megha Engineering india Limited (MEIL) bagged the Polavaram Contract. While the State Government has decided 4,987 Crore as the initial benchmark, MEIL quoted 12.6% less at 4,358 Crores for these works. This will result in the saving of 629 Crore for the State Exchequer. In total, it is around 687 Crore Savings for the State Exchequer. MEIL is the only company which has bid for the Dam and Hydel Project works.


Polavaram irrigation project in Andhra Pradesh is the world's largest flood discharge dam currently under construction, involving Rs 57,000 crore in outlay including land acquisition, rehabilitation, and resettlement. The project would irrigate a total of 42 lakh acres of ayacut in two phases, supplying water to all the thirteen districts of Andhra Pradesh.
