Reportedly as rains continue to lash parts of Tamilnadu over the weekend, schools and colleges in a few districts will remain shut on Monday as per an order from the district collectors.  Meanwhile Northeast monsoon arrived in Tamilnadu a few days ago, bringing heavy showers with it across the state and the rains have been widespread so far, disrupting the normal lives of the people living in the state.

Furthermore the incessant rains have forced the district collectors of coimbatore and Kanyakumari to declare holidays for all the schools and colleges on Monday. Perhaps in Sivaganga district, the district collector has declared holiday only for schools due to the rain and in Chennai, the district collector has stated that the schools and colleges will function normally on Monday. 



Moreover the IMD also stated that Chennai recorded 100% humidity on Sunday morning and the temperature stood at 26.2°C. Apparently according to the RMC heavy to very heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places over the state for the next two days along with thunderstorm with lightning warnings for some places that may extend up to October 25.
