Union minister Jairam Ramesh who has a long-running feud with the BJP PM candidate Narendra Modi, has reportedly hit below the belt with his latest remarks against the Gujarat Chief Minister. This has caught the attention of many. Jairam Ramesh reportedly said today that Modi, who is the BJP's PM candidate, is no saint when he accuses the Union government of incoherent attempts to get the new anti-corruption Lokpal Bill enacted as a law. He added that this is like Asaram talking about virginity referring to the controversial spiritual leader who is currently lodged in jail on charges of sexual assault. BJP’s spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said the party condemns Jairam Ramesh's dirty remarks on Modi, adding that it is shameful. Ramesh reinforced his often repeated point that Gujarat was left without a Lokayukta for nearly 10 years till January, when Modi reportedly lost a legal battle to reject any candidate recommended by the state Governor.
