If reports are to be believed, then YSRCP with nearly 23 MLAs in its kitty is reportedly not that keen on fielding a candidate for the ensuing Rajya Sabha elections, though there is reportedly a growing demand among some senior leaders that the party also should involve in the contest. YSRCP chief Jagan has reportedly expressed his reservations regarding fielding candidates for the Rajya Sabha elections for which polling will be held on February 7. In Andhra Pradesh, elections will be held for six Rajya Sabha seats. Of this, five are held by the Congress and one by TDP. Sources say that YSRCP leaders like Mopidevi Venkata Ramana, K Venkatrami Reddy, Adi Narayana Reddy, P Viswaroop, Katasani Rambupal Reddy and Shilpa Mohan Reddy, Ummareddy Venkateswarlu MV Mysura Reddy and Konatala Ramakrishna are the aspirants for one seat the party may get if it tries hard! Even as Jagan expressed serious reservations about fielding candidates for the RS poll, sources say that in case his party involves, due to cross voting Congress may suffer but Jagan may be out of the fray only to indirectly help Congress which is more than enough for rivals to blast at him of his secret understanding with Congress leadership!
