It seems that Congress party position in the state is so pitiable and sorrowful after CWC decision in favor of Telangana. Party legislators were divided vertically into two and lashed at each other politically. Congress High Command can’t able to take even disciplinary action against its representatives. Show-cause notice to JC Diwakar Reddy is live example for weak leadership of Congress High Command. Party fails to suspend him even one month after issuing the notice to him. As per its strength in the Assembly, Congress is able to win four RS seats. But situation is different in the Assembly. Actual strength of the party in the assembly is 142. There are 50 Members from Telangana and 92 members from SA region. Each candidate needs 39.57 votes to win. Three Congress candidates (One from Telangana and Two from SA) would easily come out and win. Now it’s the question how can party uses remain votes in Telangana and SA. Congress has still has surplus of 25 votes from two regions after three of its candidates won. Actually, party seeks to bag fourth seat with the help of MIM (7 votes). Now, Congress high command has in dilemma in selection of 4th candidate. There is no guarantee from Telangana MLAs to cast their votes for SA candidate and vice versa if the candidate from Telangana. SA MLAs would not in a position to humble for official “WHIP” just before 3 months of the general election. Cross-voting is imminent and unavoidable for Congress to face. As per buzz, Congress invites industrialists and offer for the fourth seat to buy votes of the MLAs.
