SA leaders have failed to stop the bifurcation of the state. Now all those leaders have concentrated on general elections. In particular, Congress leaders have much worried on their future. They know there is no guarantee for their win if they contest as Congress Nominees. Political situation in the district has changed drastically. Congress leaders like Pardha Saradhi, Tiruvuru MLA and EX-MP of Machilipatnam are searching for other alternatives.
TDP and YSRCP are far more than Congress in election campaign. Two parties have almost finalized its candidates in the district. As per latest trend in the district, YSRCP has slightly edge over TDP in three assembly segments in the district. YSRCP has chance to bag Vijayawada (West), Gudiwada and Machilipatnam. Former Congress MLA, Jaleel Khan is far more than TDP nominee Nagul Meera. Jaleel Khan is related Original Muslim where as Nagul Meera is converted. Another dominating community in this is Vysya Community. YSRCP and TDP victory depends on these votes. Vellampalli will again contest from Congress in this.
Perni Nani sitting Congress MLA joined in YSRCP in Machilipatnam. Perni is backed with strong Kapu Community. TDP candidate is field Kollu Ravindra as its candidate. Kollu is new to politics and from BC community. Strong cadre is only saving grace for TDP in Machilipatnam. Coming to Gudiwada, TDP Nominee Raavi Venkateswara Rao is far behind Kodali Nani. Nani is desperate to spend more and more to win third time from the segment. There is an allegation that Raavi can’t mingle with the cadre effectively. Some of the TDP leaders also bring this issue to CBN. YSRCP leadership has pinned hopes on three segments in the district.
