From the day one the center had announced the formation of separate Telangana state, the leaders belonging to Telangana have been boasting about their achievement mainly attributing the same on account of life sacrifices made by 1100 youth for this particular cause. Many leaders of Telangana have congratulated the congress high command for the latter's sympathy and acceptance in yielding to the demand of separation. But it appears to be a fax pas in having thought that the center acted in sympathy towards the martyrs. In fact, the ground realities in effecting bifurcation of the state are different. As everyone thought that the center had moved positively towards conceding the goal of Telangana mainly because of life sacrifices is not true and such an expectation has taken a back-seat as is obviously known by the fact that the congress party's Vice-president, Rahul Gandhi during his election campaigns in Telangana districts has been claiming that it was congress party which made the issue a reality and not KCR whose role as per the former was negligible in achieving the goal. Also there has been a political rift between the TRS and the congress which are separately vying for power in the current elections especially on the issue of bifurcation. While even as four crore people of Telangana are under the impression that KCR was the real achiever and hence are backing the latter, the center's claim for credit on this account is any indication to politicize and backseat the issue of several youth. Hence it appears to be an exercise in futility on the part of KCR in having boasted about sacrifices which seem less prioritized as compared to the congress party's boasting of its own credibility in yielding to the demand of Telangana. Separation is considered a reality at the mercy of congress party that is power hungry to garner vote-bank rather than showing favour towards Telangana leaders and also the TRS party which was subsequently reluctant to form political alliance with congress. We can draw parallels between the ways in which the TRS party has been trying to encash on martyrdom of the hapless, and the congress that acted in haste to bring into effect a bill on Telangana amid a great crisis. In any way, there no denial of the fact that an election race in the bifurcated state of Telangana is none the less aimed at achieving selfish motives of the leaders to garner vote-bank and clinch power regardless of the crisis the people of the state had undergone during the struggle for a separate statehood. In fact, life sacrifices made by the Telangana youth were due to the unrelenting attitude of the congress party which thought it fit to go for a bifurcation despite several hitches in the way only in order to derive a political mileage at a time when the congress was at the cross-roads both at the center as well as at the state level. Hence, if the congress party did not feel it necessary to pass through political hurdles to consolidate its position in the current elections, the question of yielding to the demand of separation would not have arisen in spite there were more of such life sacrifices which in true sense did not make any impact on the center's policy of bifurcation.
