Guest from Gujarat for Narendra Modi’s swearing-in began to get firmer as the lucky ones started getting calls Saturday.As many as 25 people from Vadodara, including Rajmata Shubhanginiraje Gaekwad and tea vendor Kiran Mahida — both of them Modi’s proposers during the nomination — are on the list. Mahida, who received the news Saturday morning, said, “I am humbled that Modiji thought of inviting me for the event. I will surely travel to see him take oath. It will be a proud moment for me.”
Narendra Modi’s family, sources said his eldest brother Somabhai and his wife as well as youngest brother Pankaj and his wife and son are going for the swearing-in. The third brother, Prahladbhai, will drive down to Delhi with his son on Sunday. Another sibling, Amrutbhai, is not going. “Modi’s mother Hiraba might join if she feels up to it,” said a source close to the family.
