There has been news for the last couple of days that the vacant Rajya Sabha seat due to the death of former CM N Janardhan Reddy will be in TDP’s kitty and the TDP boss Chandrababu is fine with giving it to BJP.
BJP has reportedly requested TDP that they may use this seat from AP to send recently inducted MoS Nirmala Seetharaman to Parliament. She also happens to be the wife of the staunch Samaikhyandhra advocate Parakala Prabhakar.
At the same time there are reports that BJP also has alternative plans to send Nirmala from a Rajya Sabha seat in Madhya Pradesh and they may still use this seat. But the names that are being discussed for the refill have come as a surprise.
Sources say that BJP may field Purandareshwari or most likely Pawan Kalyan from the vacant seat in AP with TDP’s help since Modi is keen on having Pawan to his side all the time. Now if that happens Pawan will have to sit along with brother Chiranjeevi who is already a RS member from Congress !
