The long pending project of having a second missile testing range for India apart from Wheeler island in Odisha is taking a big turn with Krishna district in Andhra Pradesh all set to get one. This project was in the offing from a long time and now it is materializing. Sources say that Gullalamoda in Nagayalanka mandal of Krishna district has been chosen for the project which will have a world-class missile testing range and will be built by DRDO and other scientific institutions of India. The range comes with an initial investments of Rs. 1000 crore where river Krishna meets Bay of Bengal. Currently, transporting missiles secretly from Hyderabad to Odisha is time taking and also the wheeler island at that place is reportedly crowded. This is because at least one missile is being tested once in three days. Sources say that AP CM Chandrababu Naidu is reportedly pushing the file in Delhi, which is in last stage of clearance. If this goes through then residuary AP will get a big boost to its infrastructure.
