Telangana is reportedly ignoring the government order issued by Andhra Pradesh regarding the merger of transferred mandals in the revenue divisions of Rampachodavaram and Jangareddygudem in East and West Godavari districts. Sources say that the Telangana government is considering this GO seriously and reportedly directed officials in Khammam district not to honour the AP issued GO and maintain status quo. In this regard, the Chief Secretary of Telangana Rajiv Sarma reportedly asked officials to extend all services including civil supplies from the district headquarters. This is based on a view that AP government has not yet got full-fledged powers on the transferred mandals after the Ordinance on transferring mandals has been passed in Parliament. Only then it would be treated as an Act and the AP government can issue a GO referring to the Act. At the same time all the Mandal revenue officers of seven mandals were reportedly given instructions to follow the orders of the Telangana government. It looks like another war of words is expected in coming days.
