Needless to say apart from Rayalaseema, if Reddys are strong anywhere in Andhra Pradesh then it is Nellore followed by Prakasam district. Given any party’s rule, leaders of this caste from Nellore were always a major force.
One of the Reddys , Nedurumalli also had become CM once while Anam brothers ruled the roost during ten years of Congress rule. But now they are facing an uncertain future and even if they join TDP or BJP there may be no big change for them except for some personal status.
Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy of TDP lost elections this time to Assembly and he may have to be content now with just MLC post and only if Naidu agrees, then a minister post. But he has stuck to the party since a long time so his loyalty would be rewarded.
The plight of Mekapati brothers, the less spoken the better. Though Rajamohan Reddy turned the tide in favor of Jagan during 2012 bypolls, now even though he is again an MP, he has no chance of having a brush with power.
