S. Venugopalachary is known political leader in the state. He was acted as De facto Chief Minister of Adilabad when CBN was Chief Minister of United Andhra Pradesh. In 2009, he won from Mudhol Segment in Adilabad as TDP MLA with very thin majority. He came out from TDP along with Nagam Janardhan Reddy after Telangana agitation. He joined in TRS before the general elections and lost the election from same segment. KCR was announced to make Chary as Minister if he won the election. Even after Chary lost in election, KCR created post in Delhi as TRS representative for Venugopalachary. He started to play the politics using his closeness with KCR in the district. Venugopalachary thought to forward no-confidence motion against Adilabad District Co-operative Bank to dethrone its Chairman. Minister Jogu Ramanna and other TRS MLAs were angered with Venugopalachary decision. BSP MLAs Koneru Konappa and Indrakiran Reddy joining in TRS is another setback to Venugopalachary. Both Venugopalachary and IndraKiran Reddy are political arch rivals in the district. Majority of TRS MLAs in the district were against to Venugopalachary. KCR also gave importance to the opinion of TRS MLAs in district affairs. Venugopalachary was lost his importance after Indrakiran Reddy enter into the TRS.
