Even as the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) frowned upon welfare schemes like loan waiver for farmers, the Andhra Pradesh government has finally made an announcement that much delayed and much awaited disbursal of loan waiver would be completely done by February 15, 2015.
The TDP government has reportedly identified nearly 53 lakh accounts out of the total 81 lakh farmers accounts as eligible for the loan waiver across all the 13 districts of Andhra Pradesh.
By next week, 20 per cent of the amount is expected to be transferred to the accounts of the eligible farmers. The exact date of transfer is all set to be announced once CM Chandrababu Naidu approves the list after returning from Singapore today.
After the last stage f verification process, some more accounts which were earlier considered as ineligible were once again qualified for the waiver, which brings the total eligible accounts to 53 lakh.
