Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple in Simhachalam is another richest god in Andhra Pradesh. The temple had 11,282.26 acres which were donated by Vizainagaram estate. As per the 1996-97 records, total amount of land under this temple was around 9K acres. 500 acres were illegally occupied by the people after some time.

All these lands are most valuable as per the current market value. All of them are in vacant since many years. Division of the state gave lot of value to the lands in Visakhapatnam. Now it is uphill task for the government to protect Simhachalam lands.

There are many PIL filed on Temple lands in civil, High Court and Supreme Courts. Government formed a joint committee that consists of Visakha Collector, GVMC Commissioner, VUDA Chairman, Joint Collector and Temple EO to find the possibilities to protect the lands of Simhachalam.

They submit the report to the government and expressed inability to protect the lands. The joint committee suggested the government selling of these lands either in auction or to lease in PPP (Public Private Partnership). They also suggested undertaking project that helps to generate more income to the temple.
