The Telangana government is earnestly considering with the idea of controlling the entry of journalists to the Secretariat. Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has a tendency for acting aggressively with the media.

The matter of prohibiting the media from the Secretariat came up for debate when the CM conducted a meeting with Telangana Press Academy Chairman Allam Narayana, government adviser K.V. Ramana Chary and information commissioner R.V. Chandravadan to talk on media issues.

Limitations on media entry into the Chief Minister’s chamber in the Legislative Assembly were previously implemented for the first time during the Budget session in November previous year.

Though Mr Narayana and Mr Chary rejected these speculations, sources told the Chief Minister is disappointed with some TV channels and newspapers over providing wrong scrolls and inventive reports regarding his meetings with officials and ministers in the CMO even prior they were held or finished. Mr Rao has been acquiring a “confrontationist attitude” with the media shortly after assuming charge as Chief Minister.
