It seems that Vijayawada Benz Circle might lose the beauty of Circle. Benz Circle is the junction that connects Calcutta and Chennai (NH-5). After the division of the state, land becomes dearer in Benz Circle. The price of Square feet of the land is higher in Benz Circle than Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad.
National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) invited tenders for the construction near Fly-over in Benz Circle under NHDP – 3. AP Government has decided to extend the road as 6 way lane from Vijayawada and Machilipatnam. The estimated cost of this project is 871.12 crores with a period of 24 months for the completion of the project. The proposed Fly-over starts from Jyothy Mahal Centre to Nirmala Convent Road.
NHAI decided to extend four way lanes to six lanes keeping the traffic woes between Vijayawada and Machilipatnam. Bunder road extension is inevitable because of the development of Machilipatnam port. As per the project, four by-pass fly-overs (Kankipadu, Mantada, Pamarru and Sultannagaram) and four foot over bridge in between Vijayawada and Machilipatnam. Fly-over construction in Benz Circle will ease the traffic in the city.
