This small and sleepy little village in Warangal district of Gangadevipalli  village is already known for being a model village with complete development. KCR had launched the state government's ambitious Grama Jyothi programme yesterday from here where the CM also lauded efforts by the people.

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao also added that Gangadevipally model should be emulated by every other village in the state. Again strangely, KCR, himself is now promoting the consumption of `safe and healthy' liquor which has been planned for TRS government's new excise policy.

This naturally puts himself at odds with one particular belief and determination of the villagers. KCR feels that illicitly-brewed liquor should be eradicated from Telangana while hard-working people should be offered a safer and cheaper alternative liquor wherein they can come out of the trap of consuming Gudumba.

But villagers here believe that all forms of liquor is the bane of rural life. Nearly 35 years ago the residents of the village abolished and stopped consuming on alcohol of all kinds, which has also played a key role in its rise as a model village. No the question is whether they will allow the government to open the liquor shops from October 1.
