It is not a sweet news for Chief minister Chandrababu Naidu whose native district of Chittoor has reportedly topped the list of dengue related cases in both Telangana speaking states with nearly 1,059 cases being reported over the last one month.

The central medical team which has visited Chittoor recently has reportedly warned the district officials that if proper steps aren’t being taken, then the district will soon be known for the highest prevalence of dengue in India.

Sources say that despite this warning, officials are not taking any action in time which has now resulted into an alarming situation. The government's ill preparedness has really worsened the crisis as well as shortage of hospital beds.

The district hospitals are unable to handle the record number of cases of dengue in a month and since Chittoor is located near Bangalore and Chennai,  people are going to the private hospitals there even as the number of unreported deaths are expected to be much higher than anticipated.
