One must understand that the good deeds done by you and the blessings which you receive from the person matters most in life. Only blessings can carry us throughout our life. So what is the most powerful blessing ? We go inside a religious place to offer our prayers and when we walk our we don't mind the beggars who ask for alms.
Or in case if we contribute, does that mean we have count in our blessings ? Real blessings has to be one which should come from bottom of heart. Most of us are just broken into nuclear families. We don't understand the value of grandparents these days.
