We see things sold in auction have historical significance. Now a days many live things are also sold in auction.

Here a high price goes to lemon. Though shocked, it’s a truth. In ‘Villupuram’ district, ‘Tiruvrnneinalluru’ surroundings, a village called ‘Ottunandal’ has ‘ Bala Dandayudhapani’ temple.

 

Devotes buy leamon in auction. This competition went to peak stopped at a high price of 39,000 rupees. In a ‘Trishool’ near lord Subramanyeswara swamy, a lemon will be pierced every days upto 9 days. Later they are taken out and an auction is held after several rituals.

 

Devotees will be blessed with children if they won’t have children when they drink this lime juice. In these prayers, on 11th day, Thursday night 11 to 1.30, Edumban prayers will be conducted for god offering ‘Karuvadu’.  

 

Village head will conduct this auction selling 9 lemons. This is won by couple Jaya Raman and Amaravathi for 39,000 rs belonged to Ottunandal. Third day leamon is sold for 7,711 rupees.
