Reportedly India's leading wrist-spinner kuldeep yadav has said he found keeping ab de villiers quiet in ODIs one of the most difficult things to do in his nascent career. kuldeep, who has been India's leading wicket-taker in ODIs since his debut in 2017, said he is happy that de Villiers has retired from international cricket, adding his unique batting style made it difficult to bowl at.

ab de villiers, who retired from international cricket in 2018, had struck at over 100 throughout his career in ODIs and ended it with 9577 runs at an average of 53.50. De Villiers is still a force to reckon with as he has been consistent in t20 leagues across the globe. "In ODIs, ab de villiers is a good player. He has a unique style. Now that he's retired, it's a good thing! But other than him, I haven't found any other batsman who I am scared will hit me for a lot of runs," kuldeep yadav told Deep Dasgupta in the latest episode of Cricketbaazi on ESPNCricinfo. kuldeep, meanwhile, said he found bowling to steve smith in Tests challenging due to the australia batsman's ability to play him late. Notably, kuldeep had made his debut against Smith-led australia in 2017 and shone by picking 4 wickets in India's famous win.

"Smith plays me mostly off the back foot. He plays the ball very late as well, so it becomes challenging to bowl to him," kuldeep said.Kuldeep had a disappointing indian Premier League campaign in 2019. In the match against Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers bangalore, the kolkata Knight Riders spinner was taken to the cleaners.
