For the first time in Nidahas T20 Tri-Series, a team batting first has won the match. Mahmudullah who won the toss opted to bowl and Rohit Sharma and Dhawan gave a slow but steady start for 70 runs. Dhawan fell for 35 as Rubel bowled him.
Then Raina who came one down joined hands with Rohit Sharma and India scored at an exponential rate in the latter half. Rohit scored 78 and Raina fell 3 runs short of 50. On a slow pitch, Bangladesh opened the innings on a positive note. But Washington Sundar rattled the top order and paved the way for a huge failure.
But Mushfiqur Rahim once again took the team to a close position as he remained not out on 72 and Bangladesh just managed 159 for 6 and they lost by 17 runs. So, this win means the next match between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh is a virtual semi-final.
