The 50th match of the Vivo IPL 2018 between Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab, began with the Mumbai Indians batting first.  Though Mumbai lost their opener Lewis early, Suryakumar Yadav 27(15) and Ishan Kishan 20(12), tried to hit big shots, before being dismissed by Andrew Tye.  Skipper Rohit Sharma was yet again dismissed cheaply.



Krunal Pandya scored a steady 32(23b,1x4,2x6), while as a surprise and a shocker, Kieron Pollard blasted for the first time in this season of IPL, as he smashed a brutal half-century, announcing his arrival to form scoring 50(23b,5x4,3x6)as the Mumbai Indians ended their innings putting up a respectable 186/8. Andrew Tye ended with impressive figures of 4/16, and skipper Ashwin claimed 2/18. The Kings XI Punjab innings began with the powerful Gayle dismissed early.



However, Finch and KL Rahul forged a partnership to steady the Punjab innings, before Finch was dismissed by Bumrah after scoring 46(35). Bumrah yet again claimed Stoinis, jolting the Punjab batting line up. However KL Rahul kept his cool, as he smashed back to back boundaries, taking Punjab close to victory, before Bumrah struck again, claiming his crucial wicket as he had scored a whirlwind 94(60b,10x4,3x6).And there ended Kings XI Punjab's victory dreams, as they ended scoring 183/5, losing by 3 runs. Jasprit Bumrah ended with impressive figures of 3/15.
