The second test of India vs West Indies series began with West Indies winning the toss and batting first. Except for Roston chase's stunning century of 106(189) and Jason holder's 52(92), there was no resistance from the West Indies batting line-up and they were wrapped for 311, with Kuldeep Yadav scalping 3/85 and Umesh Yadav's impressive figure of 6/88.



The Indian batting began disastrous losing opener KL Rahul and the dependable Pujara before Prithwi Shaw scored a composed 70(53) and Rishabh pant scored a valuable 92 (134) in the company of Rahane who scored a temperamental 80(183), both missing out on deserving centuries, finally taking India to 367, with cameos by Ashwin (35) and skipper Virat Kohli (45).




With India leading by 56 runs, the West Indies began their second innings, on a very disastrous note losing openers for ducks, and except for Hope (28) and Ambris (38) none of the Windies batsmen stood firm to build partnerships as Windies were wrapped by the Indian bowlers who rattled them out for 127, setting India a target of 72.



Umesh Yadav's 4/45, Ravindra Jadeja's 3/12 and Ashwin's 2/24 bundled out Windies. Chasing a meager target of 72, the Indian openers made a quick work of the Windies bowlers, as Prithwi Shaw scored 33(45)* and KL Rahul scored 33(53)* taking India to 75/0 and leading to an impressive victory in the second test by 10 wickets.
