Indian wicket keeper Rishabh Pant has made an upward move in the ICC test player rankings. In the just finished Border Gavaskar trophy test series against Australia, which India won 2-1. Rishabh Pant had scored 350 runs playing 7 innings, and his ranking has improved in the ICC test players list.

 


In the last and final test held at Sydney, Rishabh had scored an unbeaten 159 runs in 189 balls and this knock has catapulted him to the 17th rank in the ICC rankings, surging ahead by 21 places. Earlier the best position held in ICC rankings by an Indian wicket keeper was also Farook Engineer's 17th rank while MS Dhoni had 19th position in the ICC rankings. Cheteshwar Pujara, the dependable batsman who scored a whopping 521 runs besides winning the man of the match as well as player of the series awards, also moved up in the ICC rankings, and he is currently positioned at number 3 in the rankings.

The winning captain Virat Kohli continues to be world's number 1 test batsman, and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is placed at 57th position. Mayank Agarwal, the swashbuckling opener who scored two 50s in the series, improved to 62nd position in the latest ICC test rankings.
