Muslim man, Hindu woman denied stay at hotel in Jaipur
In a controversial news, a Muslim man with his female Hindu friend were denied to stay at a hotel in Jaipur, the hotel management denied the stay because of religious difference between the two.
A 31 year old assistant professor from udaipur who booked OYO Silverkey hotel was denied to stay with his female friend at the hotel. The primary reason was the man and woman belonged to different religions. Going into the details, the man booked couple friendly hotel, his female companion was supposed to come late, he checked in the hotel, after freshening up the management enquired about his friend, when he divulged the religion of his friend, the hotel promptly asked him to checkout, they said an unmarried couple with different religions can’t be allowed to stay.
Later the man approached the online booking site IBIBO, they compensated him with double the amount of booking fees, and also booked another hotel, though it was inferior to previous one.
On other hand, OYO has initiated an inquiry in this matter, they offered an unconditional apology to the customer for causing the unfortunate inconvenience.
