Newly appointed UP Congress chief meets Sonia Gandhi
The new chief of UP Congress committee met interim party president Sonia Gandhi, he also met state General secretary priyanka Vadra. He talked about the upcoming by elections in the state.
Assuming the charge of Uttar Pradesh Congress committee chief, ajay Kumar Lallu met both priyanka Vadra and Sonia Gandhi. Sonia urged Mr. Lallu to strengthen the base of party in the state. priyanka took the suggestions from leaders on the view of upcoming by elections. Leaders from across the state from the party are assigned for duties for by elections.
After strong protests from leaders Congress appointed ajay Kumar Lallu as party chief. Many leaders are reportedly sulking with party on decision of the party. Senior leaders like Rajesh Mehra and others are not happy with newly appointed chief, a three day workshop was organized for party leaders and workers.
As per sources, there is a dissent among party leaders in the state, most leaders who worked with rahul gandhi was ignored for by elections roles. Congress has given 45% reservations to OBC's in the by elections, the party leaders has termed it a political blunder as most of the constituencies have majority of Brahmins and Thakurs.
