Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS jagan Mohan Reddy has appointed former chief secretary Ajeya Kallam as his principal advisor. Ajeya Kallam is known to be an upright and strict officer and will be advising all the departments under the CMO. He will have cabinet rank and would be leading the secretaries in the Chief Minister's Office.


Ajeya Kallam retired as chief secretary in 2017 when N Chandrababu Naidu of the Telugu Desam Party was the Andhra Pradesh chief minister. After his retirement, he was very critical of the Chandrababu Naidu Government. Ajeya Kallam will be in the position for three years with a monthly salary of Rs 2.5 lakhs.


The government will provide facilities like travel allowance, dearness allowance, government vehicle, and accommodation to Kallam along with nine office staff. Kallam is a 1983-batch IAS with a post-graduation degree in Agriculture and Masters in business Administration from australia. He has over 30 years of service record.
