The Congress Working Committee (CWC) has brought back sonia gandhi to politics as she will be the party's interim chief. This decision has been taken as rahul Gandhi rejected everyone's appeal and he never even reconsidered his resignation. The CWC arrived at the discussion after discussing reports from five groups.
It should be noted that earlier both Sonia and rahul refrained from the process claiming that they can't be part of the consultations as they were the presidents of the part in the past. The Congress party group includes ex-prime minister manmohan Singh, party general secretaries priyanka Gandhi Vadra, ahmed Patel, AK Antony, Ghulam Nabi Azad, and P chidambaram and all of them discussed at the All india Congress Committee (AICC).
The five groups were from 5 different regions as rahul preferred wider consultations. Punjab CM Amarinder Singh welcomed this decision of sonia gandhi as the Congress Interim President and he also called this is the best decision considering the current situation.
